If you’ve got Fibre to the Home or Fibre Home Phone you’ll get a modem, a battery back-up unit and a Bt hub (if you don’t have one already).
Is BT fibre 100 full fibre
If you already have an existing ultrafast plan that’s powered by Full Fibre, such as Fibre 100 and Fibre 250, these have been renamed Full Fibre 100 and Full Fibre 300, but they offer the same speeds, If you are on Fibre 100 and Fibre 250 you may be able to get even faster speeds with our new Full Fibre products.
Is BT Fibre 100 FTTP
Fibre 100, Fibre 500 and Fibre 900 take advantage of BT’s growing FTTP network.
That means you can get speedy fibre connections right into the home, although this is only available in large towns and cities.

Is BT fibre 100 FTTP
BT Full Fibre: 100, 300, 500 and 900 Also known as fibre to the home (FTTH) and fibre to the premises (FTTP), BT’s Full Fibre offers ultrafast speeds ranging from 100Mbps to 900Mbps, offering serious competition to Virgin Media’s Gig1 1000Mbps service.
Is BT Fibre 1 FTTC
F1 or Fibre 1 can be delivered FTTC or FTTP, Full Fibre means it’s FTTP, so you’d get fibre to the premises.
Is BT fibre 2 FTTP
In this case, the Fibre 1 and Fibre 2 plans will be delivered using FTTP technology.
You’ll continue to benefit from the improved reliability of full fibre technology but you won’t get the faster speeds available.

Will I have a landline with my Full Fibre service? As there is no landline facility attached with Full Fibre (Fibre to the Premise) this is a broadband only service.
This means that there will be no dial tone, so if you need to contact the emergency services, you’ll need to use a mobile phone.
How do I get full fibre to my house
For Fibre To The Premises, a fibre line will need to be run into your home via a wall socket, similar to other types of fixed-line broadband.
If your home previously had fibre then an existing line can be reactivated, otherwise, an engineer visit will be required.
Does BT fibre use Virgin cable
BT fibre is completely separate to Virgin fibre. There is no ‘switchover’, a new BT service would be provided and the Virgin service ceased.

Standard BT Broadband has an average upload speed of around 1Mbps. BT broadband customers with Full Fibre Essential and Full Fibre 1 get upload speeds of up to 10Mbps, and Full Fibre 2 users benefit from upload speeds of around 20Mbps.

The appointment will last up to four hours. Your BT Hub should arrive by post two days before your installation date.

Full Fibre 900 The minimum guaranteed ‘Stay Fast’ download speed is 455Mbps and the average upload speed is 110Mbps.
If you’re using Full Fibre 900, you’ll get download speeds that are around six times faster than on Full Fibre 100.
This means you can download a full HD-quality movie in around 36 seconds.
How good is BT full fibre 100
At present, BT’s Full Fibre 100 is their most popular broadband plan using full fibre technology.
It offers an average download speed of 150Mbps with a minimum ‘Stay Fast’ guaranteed download speed of 100Mbps.
You’ll also get an average upload speed of 30Mbps.
How long does it take to install BT full fibre
You’ll need to let the engineer into your home to complete the installation. The appointment may last up to four hours.
Make sure someone’s home for all of your appointment slot – and 3-4 hours afterwards, in case your engineer arrives towards the end of the slot.
How does full fibre connect to my house
With Full Fibre installation, we’ll upgrade the master phone socket (the white box on the wall) and install an Openreach modem (ONT), which connects to the fibre optical cable that comes into your house.
The ONT enables you to get our fibre broadband and phone services, and connects to your BT Smart Hub.
Do I need an engineer to install BT Broadband
Do you always need an engineer for broadband installation? No, you don’t always need an engineer visit.
If you’re switching broadband providers within the same network, (between BT Openreach providers, for example) and have all the connections in place, the switch can happen remotely.
Can I get FTTP to my house UK
You can get speeds of up to 1,000Mbps, but it’s only available to 52% of households – enter your postcode into our Broadband Unbundled tool and it’ll let you know if you can get it.
There’s also a technology known as G. Fast. It’s still FTTC broadband, but it provides a boost which allows speeds of around 100-200Mbps.
Do I have to pay for a BT engineer
There’s no charge for most engineer visits. So, if an engineer is already visiting your premises to carry out some work, there wouldn’t be a cost.
There may be a charge if an engineer is called out to fix a fault that you could fix yourself, like a fault with your phone equipment.
How does fibre to the premises get installed
Usually your engineer will use the hole from your existing phone line. Sometimes they’ll need to create new hole.
Your engineer will install a small junction box on an outside wall and connect the fibre cable to it.
The cable will be either on a telegraph pole or underground.
Are BT doing away with landlines
Landlines will still exist, and you can still have a phone line in your home – but the system that underpins it will be different.
The changeover needs to happen by December 2025, as this is when the old technology will stop working.

To see if your address is ready for fibre broadband, perform a coverage check on the NetLink Trust website.
If your TP is installed, NetLink Trust takes 1 to 4 weeks to test the end-to-end connection to your TP, and to update their databases.
