What is Msf rate
MSF rate or Marginal Standing Facility rate is the interest rate at which the Reserve Bank of India provides money to the scheduled commercial banks who are facing acute shortage of liquidity.
This rate differs from the Repo rate and the banks can get overnight funds from RBI by paying the exclusive MSF rate.
What CRR means
Cash reserve ratio (CRR) is the percentage of a bank’s total deposits that it needs to maintain as liquid cash.
This is an RBI requirement, and the cash reserve is kept with the RBI.
