In general, fibre-optic cables will be installed along the same route used by existing telephone cables.
So, if your current telephone service is supplied using underground cables, a fibre-optic cable will be installed between a nearby underground chamber and your premises.

Fibre optic cables still need to be installed If your suburb does not have fibre cables already, you may have to be a bit more patient.
Installation times vary depending on the FNO in your area, but on average it takes between one and four weeks to lay the cables and set up connections at each building.
Do I need a new master socket for fibre
If you’re setting up your Fibre, you don’t need a special faceplate. We’ll send you microfilters to use with your existing socket.
