If you’re switching from BT to Virgin Media You’ll need to contact BT to let it know you are leaving and to cancel your services – Virgin won’t do it for you.
To ensure a seamless switchover, make sure you arrange to disconnect with BT on the same day or just after your Virgin Media connection starts.

You will need to keep the Fibre modem. If you have FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) you can either replace just the router as long as it has a WAN port or if you want to do away with the Openreach modem you will need a VDSLModem/Router.

What is the most basic BT TV package
The basic YouView box comes with BT’s Starter package. With this package, you get a total of 80 channels, including Freeview and BT Sport.

No, the Hub needs to be specially designed to work with Fibre so you can only use the BT Smart Hub or the BT Home Hub 5, Hub 4, Hub 3 or the earlier BT Infinity Hub.
The Hub 3 and Hub 4 also need to have an Openreach modem that was fitted by an engineer.
Do I need an engineer to install BT Broadband
Most of our packages can be installed without an engineer coming into your home.
But if you do need an engineer visit, we’ll let you know before you order.
Then we’ll offer you the earliest available date for the visit. If we need to change the date of an appointment we’ve already made, or cancel it, we’ll contact you.
